LOL! I've never heard you call it the Pavek lock, but everyone who knows me, knows I call it that. If you go through any of my posts anywhere, Gappa's, T-Man's, etc, I've called it the Pavek Lock for a long time. Even Leonard's family has given me permission, if I choose to make my version of the reverse bend lock, to call it the Pavek Lock. Leonard was a long time buddy of mine who was one of my many mentors in snaring. We talked a few days prior to his death to confirm his snare order he had coming from me. So I know a little of the history of that and similar locks. Cobb has his version too about the same time.
As for this thread, I understand where you are coming from, but there's not much flexibility these guys have in their use of the CR's. As I stated earlier, further testing of other cable lays and locks needs to be continuing to allow the CR users to have more options and flexibility in the tools they are allowed to use. I could could go into other details about what has worked well for live catching coyotes, but they wouldn't be allowed to be used on cable restraints, so I forego all that.
As for IL is concerned, they'll most likely get to use about any lock considering they're allowing entanglement, so using a reverse bend in this situation is asinine. LOL!

Interesting post and debate. With that said...anyone have an opinion about the reverse bend lock on gray fox?

For live catch? It would be all right, but if using 3/32" the snare better fire easy or the smaller grey fox may slip the loop altogether. There's a smaller version 1/16" / 5/64" that will work better. For dispatch, there are far better locks. I don't see a debate... the facts speak for themselves.

Ok...discussion. I can't seem to kill the grays with a deer stop snare, so, yes, live catch. Do you have any of the smaller Reichart's available or know where I can purchase? sRc
