58. It isn't so much the getting rode hard Yottey, I think it's the getting put away wet that catches up with us. Wouldn't trade it for anything though would we. LOL ;D;) Mike

You’re right again Yottey. It’s just who we are pure and simple. ;D
I live in Midland MI which is about 25 miles or so due west from the inner-western edge of Saginaw Bay.

Well I was born in 1925 and will hit 80 this summer, August to be more precise. I have sold fur in different booms, the late 1940s and early fiftys was the time to trap mink. But hit the last fur boom and had some $300.00 plus coyotes. MadtrapperTEXT

adokken!
At 80, you may be! Welcome to the board! If you get a chance and have the time, share some of those experiences you've had on the line with us. We would love to hear them.
Take Care,
Snareman

In the early 1950's while trapping on the Clark Saylor Refuge in ND the Manager called me and asked if I would test a new trap. That was the first time I had seen a Conibear trap. He had two 330's and they wanted to test them. There was a beaver lodge about 500 yards from the Headquaters office so made two sets and in the morning had two blanket beaver. The refuge people were excited and took a lot of pictures. Anyway it is still the only trap I use on beaver.
