How many snares do do put in a decent coon trail at any one time and how long do set up a trail before pulling?

As many as it takes! Usually though, I will have 4 to 8 snares depending on sign and crops, etc. Leave them for at least 3 to 5 nights if the coon are moving, then down the road and do the same thing over again elswhere. Steve

2-6 often depends on how much room there is as I work a lot public road right-of-way.

coonsnareman I set as many as I can between the fence and the road usually 2 on each side. I have caught tons of doubles and as many as 5 in one trail at one time. If I am on private land where the trail seams to go on forever I'll set them much farther apart to avoid tearing up too much trail all in a row that could throw the coons off the trail all together. Its not too bad to drag a heal through one catch circle to help them stay on track but 5 or 6 side by side can make the path hard for them to follow.
