i saw a gentlemen useing small washers for snare locks. not as a washer type lock just the cable running thru the washer like a lasso. ever seen this?

I think snare shop sells some like that for small game.

That will work for rabbits, but it's too crude compared to what's out there today.
I actually had someone come in my area that started to hang some snares and noticed they had small washers on their snares used just as you suggested. The guy caught a red fox and I moved and covered it for him as he tied it to brush for a drag and it was too viewable when it got entangled on the trail. I wouldnt' suggest this though as it relies too much on entanglement to work.

I agree i bought some for mink i didnt know what i was getting as i orderd them on the phone (i wasn't impresed with them)
