I saw in the FF&G I believe there was a guy who uses an electric knife for fleshing his coons. It looked interesting. Anyone ever try it?

ADC I caught a coon a couple days ago doing some adc work for a turkey farmer and skined it out and put it in the freezer. After reading that same story, I took it out of the freezer and will try it tomorrow after work to see how it works. I have a electric knife for doing fish that what i'm going to use. I'lll et you know tomorrow how it worked for me. I wonder if it would work for otter or beaver!

In "Otter Made Simple" by John Wilkinson, he shows the electric knife doing those two grissle down each side of the tail. Looks not too bad, but would like to try it for myself.

ADC I just got in from trying the electric knife on the coon, and it went really well. Here is my input on this, Now I can't speak for the florida trappers who use this and it works for them thats great, but the coon I did was a summer coon with hardly any fat. So my concern would be how well would it work on winter, or fall coon in the midwest, or any place coon get fat to sleep for the winter. Because I do'nt think coon put on much fat in florida for there winter months, so it's maybe easier to use the electric knife on. And if you try it do'nt just put on a plane glove on the hand holding the top of the blade put on a welders glove or something heavy because it vibrates alot. So I think I'll just stick with my fleshing knives and beam. And remember this is only my 2cents worth.
