Guys I just got done dipping all my water traps to get ready for the season, and was sitting there have a pop and was thinking how much wire I use on my conibers in one season and am sick of redoing them ever year. So since I use cable on all water foothold with disposable stakes, and cable for all my under ice beaver snaring, the small light bulb up stairs went on, and was wondering if I could get buy using cable on my conis instead of wire. It sure would be alot easier, so I was wondering if any of you guys have used it and liked it or not?

Been using cable on all conibears for the last several years now. Six feet on 330s and 3 on 220s. I dont hardly go through a roll of wire in a year and love it.

Oh yes, most definitely switch to cable. My preference is 3/32" 7x7 stainless, but regular galvanized 7x19 will work good too. These 2 cables work like rope and are not stiff making them easier to work with. I use 6ft. of the cable on my Belisle 220 Super X's and have an inline swivel close to the spring. Each cable has an adjustable loop end as well.
You'll kick yourself once you switch over and wish you would have done it sooner! LOL!
Good luck,

Like snareman I swivel my as well by the spring. Do this or you will be replacing alot of twisted up cable.
I haveing been using the cheapest 3/32 cable I can get. Mine dont last more than a couple years. I am kind of a putz and a jiffy ice chisel cuts through 3/32 cable like butter. All of my 330s will see under ice action by the end of the year.

I use cable on all my bodygrippers, mostly dryland 160's and 220's with a Pogo anchor because not too many thieves carry cable cutters with them. Usually don't have 220's in the road ditch but once in a while, otherwise they disappear. 95% snares for me.
