Notice how the small one's picture come in all nice and clear....
...then the monster is a little blurry. Hmm?
Kinda like seeing a UFO picture or Bigfoot... just can't get a clear picture. LOL! ;D
Thanks for the pics. I'm not familiar with turtle trapping or trotlines, but have thought about both.

Yep, catching them big flatheads is my second favorite hobby. We have our best luck on home made ditty poles. You should check out www.catfishconnection.com they have all the supplies and good prices for all your catfishing stuff. What kind of lines do you all use? If you use ditty poles how do you make them? (pole type/line weight/hook size/etc....)

I fish ALOT in the Neches River in East Texas. There are lots of catfish and they are vary healthy but you rarely catch one over 20 pounds. I fish some at Lake Limestone and it is loaded with big fish. All of those pictures were taken at Lake Limestone
In the Neches River I fish the back water when the water is high (like now) and when the water goes down I run short lines with about 5-7 hooks right above sand bars where the water slows down. There are usualy a bunch of logs fallen in the water in these places to tie lines to.
My favorite thing to do in the river though is to find a huge log jam in deep swift water next to a bluff bank and walk out on the logs and set drop lines down in between the logs. I'll get a heavy weight and tie a string to it and let the weight go all the way to the bottom and I'll put 2 or 3 stagions on it baited with my secret recipe or sun perch.
At Lake Limestone I have two little lines in about 10 feet of water that you can run back and forth baiting them and taking fish off.

NB, I'll take you up on the BBQ next time I get down that way. I went to that big thicket hog problem meeting at the Lumberton high school.
