i tried to start last year but was shut down hard when i had 8 of my 12 traps stolen. i thought it was best after that to wait till next season so i started out again this season with 2 dozen new traps and loved it cant wait till next season.

Set my first trap at the ripe old age of 8,a #3 double long for coyotes on the farm,I didnt catch any but my uncle did,my first catch was a chipmunk in a farm lane. The #3 for coyote caught a skunk. My dad took me along on his short coon line,he'd take me along checking during the boom years in the 70's,he was a game warden working undercover as a trapper, trying to catch trap thieves,it was pretty rampant then.I'm 40 now, been trapping since age 8.

I'm 35 now, caught my first muskrat when I was 8 or there abouts so that makes about 27 years...learn something new every day....I sure with they had internet forums back when I was starting out, it would have made things so much easier.....Corey

Caught my first coon at 9 and first grey fox at 11. I think only reason i caught that fox was because i sort of lost the set in a clover field corner. i knew generall where it was but did not dare walk up close to it cause that is what the books said at the time.Did alot of water trapping through school , was good money back then.Got into land trapping in high school pretty good and been addicted to canines ever since. caught my first cat 2 years ago , and let me tell you that is the worse possible addiction to have. All i can think and talk about since is cats ;D Have trapped 5 states so far and trapping my 6th this fall. For water trapping love the southern states , but for land trapping hooked on the western states. I am 37 now , and have only messes with snares past 2 seasons. Decided to get serious about it this year to add a couple of furs to the bed of the truck when out of state. So this year will be my greenhorn learning year on snares , and I will catch fur in them cause i am, too stubborn not too
